Request Deletion via Email

Send an email from your registered account address with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We process web deletion requests within 30 days (typically within 1–2 business days).

Overview

PilotCharts respects your privacy and gives you full control over your personal data. You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

You can delete your account directly within the mobile app (instantaneous), or via email / web request if you have uninstalled the app or no longer have access to your device.

Method 1: Delete Directly in the App (Instant)

If you have the PilotCharts app installed on your device, deleting your account is immediate:

  1. Open the PilotCharts app.
  2. Tap the Menu (☰) icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Account (showing your name or email address).
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Account panel and tap Delete account.
  5. Enter your account password to confirm your identity.
  6. Tap Delete account in the confirmation dialog.

Your account, active sessions, and all cloud-synchronized data are deleted immediately.

Method 2: Request Deletion via Web / Email

If you no longer have access to the PilotCharts app or device:

  1. Send an email to pilotcharts@dplabs.tech with the subject line:
    Account Deletion Request
  2. Please send the request from the email address registered with your PilotCharts account so we can verify account ownership.
  3. If you cannot send from that address, include enough details (such as account email and recent sync activity) to allow us to verify your identity.
  4. Once verified, our team will permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data within 30 days (usually within 1–2 business days) and send you a confirmation email.

What Data is Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently purged from our servers:

  • Account details & credentials: Your email address, user name, hashed password, and all active authentication session tokens.
  • Flight routes & waypoints: All custom flight routes, waypoints, and leg calculations synchronized to your account.
  • Notepad & airport notes: All personal flight notes, pilot logs, and custom airport notes.
  • Library documents & charts: All user-uploaded PDF charts, approach plates, and photos stored in your cloud library.
  • Aircraft hangar: Registered aircraft profiles, tail numbers, and cruise performance settings.
  • Saved favorites: Favorite aerodromes and airfields linked to your account.

What Data is Retained

  • No personal data is retained. Once your account is deleted, all personal records, synced items, and uploaded files are permanently removed from our primary databases and cloud object storage (AWS S3).
  • Anonymous aggregate metrics: Our servers record anonymous, aggregate daily counters (such as the total number of weather lookups, NOTAM fetches, or account deletions across the entire service). These aggregate numbers contain no user identifiers, IP addresses, or personal information, and cannot be linked to your identity or device.

Important Notes on Subscriptions

Deleting your PilotCharts account does not automatically cancel recurring subscriptions billed directly through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

If you have an active paid subscription:

  • iOS / iPadOS: Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device settings under Apple ID → Subscriptions.
  • Android: Manage or cancel subscriptions in the Google Play Store app → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Please cancel your active store subscription prior to or immediately after deleting your PilotCharts account to avoid future billing by Apple or Google.
